The annual conference of the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society is coming to Maryland this year. The theme is “400 Hundred Years of Black History: The Struggles, Challenges and Perseverance, ” which commemorates the 400th Anniversary of the first documented arrival of 20 Africans in English North America in 1619. It is the largest international African American conference that promotes African-ancestored family history, genealogy, and cultural diversity. The program includes three days of sessions plus pre-conference tours.
