The Anne Arundel Genealogical Society cordially invites you to its 2017 DInner and Elections.
Speaker: Steven Parker
Presentation: DNA and Unknown Parentage: An Adoption Case Study
Steven Parker will demonstrate how to use DNA in conjunction with traditional genealogy to chip away at the brick wall of unknown parentage cases. He uses the search for his own birth parents as a case study to show how DNA can provide new clues when tackling unknown parentage.
Steven is a library media specialist in Montgomery County who has spent over 30 years researching adoption and tracing unknown parentage. His interest in genealogy began as a result of his own search for his birth parents. With the advent of DNA, he has immersed himself in this new avenue of research. After taking Genetic Genealogy classes, he began consulting in unknown parentage cases several years ago.
