Please join us for a free family history class "Social Media for the Genealogist" to be presented by Dottie Aleshire at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4100 St. Johns Lane, Ellicott City. (The Columbia Maryland Family History Center is in the lower level of this church.)
Dottie will help us discover new ways to communicate and enhance our research using social networking sites such as Facebook and Google, or genealogy blogs and microblogs such as Twitter; sites for sharing family trees such as Ancestry, FamilySearch and MyHeritage; and sites for sharing such as Flickr, Pinterest and YouTube. If you are looking for long-cousins, they may be just a click away on your computer!
